"Sonoma County Wineries Association" lists 13 sub-appellations within it. But it is a more confusing listing system than within Napa County. There are two organizations that appear to be major advocacy bodies representing many Sonoma County wineries.

First -- Click >>: Sonoma Grape VineThis site lists sub-appellations of Sonoma County which are:Alexander Valley (28 members listed),Bennett Valley(2), Chalk Hill (2), Dry Creek Valley(28), Green Valley (10), Knights Valley (2), Northern Sonoma (Includes,Alexander Vally, Chalk Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Knights Valley, Rockpile and Russian River Valley all totallying 108 members),Rockpile (0), Russian River Valley (50),Sonoma Carneros (22), Sonoma Coast (5), Sonoma Mountain (3) and Sonoma Valley (42) These total 194 wineries. But, when one goes to see the member wineries, the URL changes to Sonoma County Grape Growers Assoc.and only 31 wineries are listed with a link to their individual web site.
